Testing: ACT/SAT College Admissions and ASVAB Military Assessment
Students in grades 9-12 have a variety of opportunities to prepare for the ACT and SAT including test preparation included in the content areas, ACT workshops, and online test prep opportunities. All juniors have the opportunity to take the ACT or SAT at Johnsonville High School. Additionally juniors and seniors are encouraged to utilize the test prep resources and register to take the ACT and/or SAT assessments. Because college admissions and merit-based scholarships are based on college admissions test scores, students may want to consider re-taking theses assessments to improve scores.
Students in grade 11 will take the ASVAB assessment. The ASVAB is a timed multi-aptitude test, which is given at over 14,000 schools and Military Entrance Processing Stations (MEPS) nationwide and is developed and maintained by the Department of Defense. Students interested in more information about the ASVAB should see Mr. Craton Dicks, Career Facilitator grades 11 and 12.
