Tracy Ruetterman is JHS Teacher of the Year
Congratulations to Mrs. Tracy Ruetterman on being chosen by her peers as the Johnsonville High School 2021-2022 Teacher of the Year. Mrs. Ruetterman is a graduate of Johnsonville High School and has 11 years of experience as an English teacher. This is her second year at Johnsonville High School, and she teaches English 3 and Advanced Composition. Prior to coming to JHS, she taught at Hemingway High School and Odyssey Online Learning. Mrs. Ruetterman graduated from Francis Marion University in 2008 with a Bachelor of Arts in English. She received her endorsement for Gifted and Talented in 2014 and then in 2017 she graduated from Concordia University Portland with a Master's degree in Curriculum and Instruction. She also received her AP English Certification in 2019.
Mrs. Ruetterman feels that the most rewarding part about being a teacher is, “getting to know your students and seeing them grow as intellectuals and individuals.” When asked how she hopes her students will remember her, Mrs. Ruetterman said, “I hope my students remember me as someone who genuinely cared about each of them as an individual, and to remember me as someone who helped them learn to love English, especially reading.” Congratulations to Mrs. Ruetterman on being chosen as Johnsonville High School’s Teacher of the Year.
