Career/Guidance Spotlight
Seniors toured Morris College and Allen University on March 22. Thanks to Mr. Dicks and Mrs. Tracy Ruetterman for chaperoning this trip.
Employability Class 1 and 2
Students in Mrs. Vickie Hood's Employability Class 1 and 2 presented Mr. Sam Tuten with a t-shirt with his JHS Motto "100% Effort; 100 % of the Time." Shirts were pressed by Employability students and designed by Mrs. Jenn Hodges and the JHS Art Club. Shirts will be earned by students demonstrating 100% Effort; 100% of the Time!
Mrs. Chandler's French classes celebrated Mardi Gras!
Mrs. Hodges and the art classes created a Valentine’s display to show what JHS teachers love about their students.
The English Classes participated in a special "Speed Dating with Books" event to find their perfect book match. Students rotated to different tables while listening to music to rate books and try to find books that they could "fall in love with."
The Flashes Read Book Club created a "Blind Date With A Book" display for February and Valentine's Day. Book club members selected their favorite books to wrap as a "blind dates." Other students were then able to check out the books and "rate their (book) date" for a prize.
The Academic Challenge team defeated Lee Central on Wednesday, February 2 with a score of 25-24.
The Photography Club started the month of February with a Valentine’s Photo Booth
The JHS Beta Club participated in a shoe drive during the week of February 6 - 10, 2023. Some of the shoes collected will be repurposed, and others will be used by micro-entrepreneurs in developing nations. Proceeds will be used to cover the cost of mailing shoeboxes during Operation Christmas Child.
