Subjects Taught
AP U.S. History, U. S. History

I am a "native" Johnsonville and graduate of Johnsonville High School.  After high school I attended the University of South Carolina where I recieved a Bachelor's Degree in  History, a minor in Secondary Education and a cognate in English.  After graduation, I furthered my education at USC and recieved a Master's Degree in Secondary Education.

After graduation from the Universtiy of South Carolina, I began teaching at Creek Bridge High School where I spent two years as a middle school teacher.  While there I taught 6th grade Early Civilizations, 7th grade World History, and 8th grade SC History.  After Creek Bridge my husband and I moved back to Columbia where I taught for two years at Kelly Mill Middle School in Northeast Columbia.  Again, I taught 7th and 8th graders World History and SC History.  I thourghouly enjoyed my time teaching in Columbia but I would be called back home to teach at my alma mater.  Since returning to JHS, I have taught 9th grade Georgraphy and Psychology; US History and Law Ed; and this year we will be adding APUSH to the mix.  I am currently in my 6th year at JHS and I must say, it is great to be HOME!

I grew up in the city of Johnsonville and was raised by my wonderful parents, Steve and Brenda Dennis.  While in school, I would meet my future husband, Dalton Broach. Dalton is the son of Melissa and Jerry Powell, aslo residents of Johnsonville (we grew up one block from each other).  Dalton and I have two children- Maddux Gray Broach, 5 and Madeline Rubie-Grayce Broach, 4.  I was made to be a mama and they are my biggest blessings in life!  I am a member of Johnsonville Pentecostal Holiness Church and I teach children's church for 3-8 year olds.  I am the JHS Varsity cheerleading coach and my husband is currently serving as a JHS Booster Club board member. We 100% supports JHS academics and athletics.
