SCASL Young Adult Book Award 2018-19

South Carolina Association of School Libraries selects a list of recommended books for young adults each school year. Students may participate in the voting if they read at least 3 books from the list. This link includes information and book trailers about the SC Young Adult Book Award Nominees for 2018-19.

Florence County Library

The Florence County Public Library is a wonderful extension to our school library. The Florence County Library System card gives access to the SCLENDS consortium which includes 20 SC county libraries as well as FREE ebooks and e-audiobooks through Jasmine Digital Library and RB Digital.

NoveList Plus

This database is a part of the State Library DISCUS Virtual Library. The database includes book summaries and reviews along with recommendations for similar books and genres. Check with Mrs. Calcutt for the current home access login information.

ACT and SAT Test Prep

APEX is an online individualized learning program for students preparing to take the ACT. JHS sophomores and juniors enrolled in English and/or Math have access to these test-prep tutorials. Student login information is available from English and Math teachers.

Learning Express Library

This site includes test prep materials and practice tests for ACT and SAT as well as tutorials for high school skills in Math, English, Reading, Writing, Grammar, and Science. It also includes tutorials for careers and placement tests. See Mrs. Calcutt if you have questions about how to set up accounts for Learning Express Library.
