Mrs. Hanna's 4th Block English 4 Class Earns Pizza Party

Throughout the first semester, the English classes competed to see which class could read the highest average of books per student. After a very close competition, Mrs. Shelia Hanna’s 4th block English 4 class took the prize with an average of 21.92 books per student. Mrs. Hanna’s class celebrated their reading accomplishments with a pizza party on Tuesday, January 8.

Students were challenged throughout the semester to read independently, not only during our daily “Flashes Read” time, but also during their own free time. Many students accepted the challenge as is evidenced by the success of the competition in the English classes where students read an overall average of 12.27 books per student. Throughout the semester 163 students enrolled in English classes read 2000 books. The classes earning the runner-up positions for the competition were Mrs. Dellinger’s 4th block English 1 class with an average of 19.14 books per student and Mrs. Ruetterman’s 2nd block English 3 class with an average of 17.42 books per student.
